Neil Morrison has joined the Sparrow Shared Ownership (SSO) Board as a Non Executive Director and Chair of the Remuneration & Nominations Committee (RemCo).

At the same time, Sarah Wall, who has chaired RemCo since Sparrow’s formation and served on the Audit & Risk Committee, will step down from the Board. She will continue to support Sparrow in an adviser role.

David Avery, Chair of the SSO Board, said:

“On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Sarah for her commitment and dedication during the establishment of Sparrow. Sarah’s judgement and integrity have been fundamental to how we operate today.

We are also pleased to welcome Neil to the Board. We are confident that he will build on the foundations already in place and contribute valuable people and leadership expertise.”

Reflecting on her time with Sparrow, Sarah said:

“I am proud of the progress made during Sparrow’s establishment. Supporting the organisation through internalisation and its first regulatory inspection were important milestones, and it has been a privilege to work with the Board and team.”

Neil brings more than 30 years’ experience leading people and communications across retail, publishing and regulated utilities. He currently serves as Director of HR and Communications at Severn Trent plc, is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), and a Non Executive Director at the Youth Futures Foundation, where he sits on the People and Culture Committee.

Commenting on his appointment, Neil said:

“Sparrow is doing something genuinely different, with a clear focus on long term customer outcomes and the quality and sustainability of homes. That approach aligns well with my own experience and perspective.”
