Our Managing Director, Anita Khan, has been appointed to the Board of the Shared Ownership Code – a group of leading voices working together to raise standards and improve the experience for shared owners.

Our Managing Director, Anita Khan, has been appointed to the Board of the Shared Ownership Code – a group of leading voices from housing, consumer advocacy, and finance, working together to raise standards and improve the experience for shared owners.
Anita said: “Shared ownership is such an important way for people to get onto the housing ladder. We’re proud to be adopters of the Code, and I’m excited to help shape its future as part of the Board.”
The Code sets clear standards across the sector so customers can trust the process and feel confident in their journey to homeownership. It was created through sector-wide collaboration, consumer research, and a pilot programme. Today, it’s operated by the New Homes Quality Board (NHQB), the organisation behind the New Homes Quality Code and New Homes Ombudsman Service.
Anita added: “The Shared Ownership Code is a positive way to bring more consistency and clarity across the sector. I’m pleased to join the Board and help strengthen the product and the opportunities it creates for homeownership. Sparrow is new and dedicated to shared ownership - I’ll bring that focus, along with real insights from our customers, into every discussion.”
The Board, chaired by Ann Santry CBE, includes representatives from organisations such as Leeds Building Society, Citizens Advice, HomeOwners Alliance, and the Chartered Institute of Housing. Together, the team brings a wealth of expertise and a shared commitment to delivering on the Code’s goals:
Consistency – setting standards that apply across the sector
Clarity – making shared ownership easier to understand
Fairness – ensuring customers are supported and treated with integrity
We’re proud to have a voice at the table driving change. Shared ownership deserves better, and together we’re building a future where clarity, fairness, and opportunity come as standard.
